The shower was very nice.
The room in general was pretty weak and look like a bad conversion.

Plenty of comfortable pillows.
Bad, stagnant smell; cockroaches (3) in our room.

The staff was helpful and friendly, however - it was very disheartening to wake to 3 cockroaches in our room.

It was charming and picturesque, but the service was not the best.
I felt it did not live up to its reputation.

The room was attractive, comfortable but a bit dated and very pricey for what was offered. We ordered room service for breakfast one morning. The coffee was not too good, the muffins were obviously from a mix that was too sugary and were an odd color just not the healthy breakfast they were supposed to be. I went to the grocery store and did better the next morning. The parking was also inadequate, the pool and exercise room were very small. There was a shuttle service to the conference center, however. The spa services were also very pricey even with the discount we were offered. I didn't feel the stay was worth what we paid for, compared to some of the hotels I have stayed at in the Atlanta area. ...read more

The beds and sheets were extremely comfortable! The beds and sheets were extremely comfortable!
The 2 closest ice machine were not working.

This is a charming location with an excellent centralized location. It has an air of relaxation and luxury.

I loved the pillow-top mattress! Very comfortable.
No counter space in bathroom! Not for 2 people to use!

The hotel is a very neat place with lots of history. The stay was nice, clean, and comfortable. A nice lounge in the back of the hotel was neat, but more suited to the younger crowd due to the band noise. The very small restaurant was cozy and the breakfast was good. The hotel was very accessible to the UGA stadium where the graduation was held. ...read more

Breakfast at Hoyt house, check-in desk.
Housekeeping.

My husband and I came to Athens in early May 2008 and we needed a nice place to stay, close to the UGA and downtown. The hotel was what we thought it would be. They gave us a room in the first level saying all second-level rooms were occupied, but we didn't mind. We had breakfast in their Hoyt House restaurant 3 times and the food was very good. They were the only place in town who had fruit salad (I tried a couple of other places for lunch and they didn't). Eggs Benedict were great. Parking was not a problem, plenty of spaces. May be the timing of our visit was right, since we left just before Mother's day and commencement at the UGA. The room was nothing special, a comfortable big bed, very soft sheets. Once we forgot to leave tips and housekeeping gave absolutely no additional supplies. Free high-speed internet, free parking. Well, what else, great food for breakfast rather quiet neighbors. I would recommend this hotel. ...read more

Great service, down comforters, great music venue and restaurant on site, in Downtown.
Wouldn't always give a plastic bag for the ice bucket.

Location, pretty interior, restaurant on premises.

Room smelled a little "musty" when we arrived. After I turned on the air conditioner, it got better. Beds were very nice and the restaurant was great. Very close to University of Georgia which we were visiting. ...read more

Beds were great.
Workout facility stunk.

Overrated--glorified motel, but they have tried to update the rooms.
